Benji Davies is an author, illustrator and formerly one half of animation directing duo Frater. His books have been co-editioned in over 30 languages and countries. His first picture book The Storm Whale (Simon & Schuster) won the inaugural Oscar’s Book Prize and was Dutch Picture Book Of The Year. His second, Grandad’s Island, in 2015 won the AOI World Illustration Awards 2015's children’s book category and Best Picture Book and overall Children’s Book of the Year at the Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Awards. Most recently he adapted his Channel 4 A-I-R scheme film, The Grotlyn (2004), into a rhyming picture book (HarperCollins, 2017). Benji has enjoyed working with Animade, Beakus and Moth in recreating his work in various animated forms.
