The British Animation Awards (BAA) covers all aspects of the UK Animation scene, from student work to commercials, children’s entertainment, short and experiential films, music videos and new technologies.

The Awards night for BAA 2018 was held last week at the BFI SouthBank, on March 15th, and considered by many one of the best yet.

Hosted by Miles Jupp, who brought down the house several times with his wryly acerbic comments on the animation industry, preceded by a wondrously entertaining performance of comic visual theatre from Tony Collingwood and Alan Gilbey as an ode to our sponsors, attendees also enjoyed the chance to experience the work of finalists in the Best Expanded Animation category (for VR/AR) in the VR pop-up, courtesy of VR Concept, as well as other VR games.

The next Awards will take place in March 2020, under new director Helen Brunsden.
